Aero-acoustic studies to meet API Standard 618 & 674
requirements
Thermal expansion in chilled & hot water piping
Seismic analysis for piping network
A piping network is complicated since vibrations
propagate in both fluid medium as well as structural medium as there is
a fluid-structure coupling. The two propagation paths of noise and vibration
are not independent. Vibration energy is transmitted along the pipe through
propagating waves of two different types. Each wave has structural and
fluid components whose relative contribution determines the design of
the system and position and sizes of spares like dampers, acoustic volumes
etc to be used in the pipeline network.
We at Mechartés provide services to carry out flow, acoustical,
structural and pulsation analysis of Piping Network. We conduct these
studies as per the American petroleum institute (API) standard API 674
for fluid systems and API 618 for gaseous network. Our design approach
involves pulsation control through the use of pulsation control devices
developed using proven acoustical simulation techniques in conjunction
with mechanical analysis of pipe runs and support system to achieve control
of vibration response. This design methodology is normally applicable
to critical pump and piping systems, multiple pumps in parallel, and applications
utilizing variable speeds, multiple fluids and variable operating conditions,
where safety and reliability are important and where suitability of purpose
must be documented. We also conduct thermal stress analysis for piping
network to ensure that the network has enough flexibility to take care
of thermal expansion & contraction. Please browse through some of
our case-studies in the left side navigation bar to get an overview of
our piping network analysis projects.
