Vibration isolation is the process of isolating an object, such as a piece of equipment, from the source of vibrations.

A source of vibration could be a vibration motor, of any kind , for e.g of a pump, a motor driving a fan, a generator. This leads to oscillations on the mounted system, creating wear and tear on the machinery as well as the mounted frame. A source of vibration also leads to a noise generation source, which needs to be taken care of to provide a pleasant working environment.

Choosing an optimized set of isolators is also critical to reduce such damages, and to provide optimum isolation. Choosing a sub-standard set of isolators maybe even more harmful than installing a system without an isolator.
