| Ooshma predicts the performance parameter for
a shell & tube heat exchanger. It calculates the temperature
drop and pressure loss in the shell & tube heat exchanger
at different flow conditions. It uses the basic ‘shell
tube’ heat exchanger equations, validated through CFD
& experimentation. The interface is currently customized
for automobile Exhaust Gas Recirculator (EGR).
Ooshma is developed with VB & OpenGL as front end. The
background logic has been developed in C++ and integrated
with the VB platform. It plots the trends of various performance
parameters for shell & tube heat exchanger in Microsoft
Excel. Reports generated in Excel can then be used for further
analysis. It exports the 2D drawings of the components &
sub assemblies in AutoCAD format.
