Power Gen 2008 ( 3rd – 5th April, 2008 )

Mechartes Researchers Pvt. Ltd participated in Power gen 2008 organised by Ministry of Power, Government of India Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India.

POWER-GEN India & Central Asia 2008 conference and exhibition featured the largest exhibition in the event's eight year history, and a significantly expanded conference programme designed to tackle the immense challenges of providing power to one of the world's most populous countries and its second fastest growing major economy.

The first day of the conference provided an indepth overview of the challenges faced, with welcome addresses and panel contributions from key political and industry figures. Days two and three of the conference focused on four industry areas critical to India's power future: thermal generation; hydro generation; investments and power markets, and renewable and environmental issues.

Mostra Convegno Expocomfort ( 11th– 15th March, 2008 )

Shishir Gupta and Pawandeep Singh from Mechartes particpated in the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort takes place 11-15 March 2008. The biennial international exhibition, the leader in civil and industrial equipment is in its 36th edition. MCE is an integrated system where the whole worldwide production and distribution line of the HVAC and plumbing sector comes together. The exhibition focus was on HVAC, Energy Effeciency, Renewable Energy , Plumbing and Water Treatment.

Acrex 2008 ( 15th– 17th Feb, 2008 )

Mechartés displayed its capabilities at Acrex 2008, held at KTPO, Whitefield, Bangalore.

ACREX is the largest international exposition in India is being organized by ISHRAE in association with ASHRAE and All India Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Association (AIACRA).
Indian construction and infrastructure industry is witnessing a rapid growth (at nearly 12% a year) which is nearly twice the world's average. Accordingly, the HVAC&R and building Services industry is now growing exponentially in terms of volume, quality, state of the art technology and eco-friendliness of its products and services.

Dr. M R Ravi (Director, Mechartés Researchers Pvt. Ltd.) had presented a very informative technical seminar on the latest technologies and applications of CFD in the HVAC Sector which was highly appreciated by the audiences.

Sonic 2007 ( 14th– 15th December, 2007 )

The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Pune, has been conceptualized with a global perspective to bring to the fore, 'Innovation and Leadership' in advanced education and research. The institute has a masters course in the field of CFD. With the emergence of CFD as a rapidly growing field spanning from nano technology to Aerospace, and the change in the role of India from buyer to developer of key technologies, CFD promises to dominate in high end Technology sector.
SONIC '07 was national level symposium on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The event will encompassed a wide range of topics related to CFD. The purpose of symposium is to bring Industry and Academia together to share their expertise. Mechartes along with Flomerics, Zeus and Ansys sponsored the event this year. Mechartes also presented a talk on the topic : "Introduction to OpenFoam Platfrom for development of custom CFD applications" in the technical session during the symposium.

"Joint Venture is not a common thing for Systemair, but we couldn't resist in this case because of the brains" quoted Mr. Svein Nilsen , VP of marketing for Systemair group. "We have been cooperating for a year so far and business has been very fruitful. The experience has been very good and we can see that together we would be stronger. Systemair can strengthen the product range with this JV".

The management at Mechartés is excited with this development and are optimistic about future growth.

"We are confident that we have strong foundation to be able to quickly scale up and meet the expectation and demands of Systemair group"

The launch reception of the new JV took place at the Swedish Embassy at Chankyapuri (New Delhi) on 24th October 2007. The event was attended by good number of construction consultants and building services consultants. The event started with a welcome address by Mr. Lars-Olof Lindgren, Ambassdor of Sweden to India. He highlighted the success of Swedish companies in India, and sighted inclination toward research as the major reason for the same. Complete address is uploaded on left. Technology director of Mechartés Dr. M.R. Ravi also addressed the gathering and explained in brief the services that would be provided by the JV company and technology that would be used to do the same. Vice president of Systemair group Mr. Svien Nilsen spoke on the plans of Systemair in India and the positive atmosphere with in Systemair with respect to Indian capabilities and market.

When N R Narayana Murthy and his six friends started Infosys in 1981, no one had anticipated the company would one day become an icon of India Inc's global success. The partnership, which began from a small office in a house bought on loan by the Murthys 25 years ago, has become an MNC with a Nasdaq listing. There are many such success stories of friends who met at either IIT or IIM, went their separate ways after graduating, but eventually quit their jobs to come together and start a new venture. From Induslogic to Fractal Analytics, to Tavant Technologies, the list is long. Hostel mates Rajul Garg and Tarun Upadhyay started Induslogic after graduating from IIT Delhi in 1998. Says Garg, ''We liked each other and got attracted to the idea of building products for the US market and starting a company.'' They had zero capital in the beginning. Shishir Gupta and his IITD friends started Mechartés Researchers, "We decided to quit our jobs, IIM seats and start our own enterprise. Of course, we were a bit scared initially.'' Predictably, start-ups do go through a tough time. As Sudha Murthy wrote in her book: ''Nandan Nilekani and his wife Rohini stayed with us. While Rohini babysat my son, I wrote programmes for Infosys. There was no car, no phone, just two kids and a bunch of us working hard, juggling our lives and having fun, while Infosys was taking shape.''
