Analysis
In order to determine the working and capability of the MechFLOW we initially considered a car park basement with natural ventilation and mechanical exhaust and determined the massfraction and flow (velocity profile) of air in the car parking ventilation using the commercial CFD Code Fluent 6.3.26 giving the initial boundary conditions. Then a similar kind of boundary condition was applied and simulation was carried out using the customized CFD Tool - MechFLOW .

Result and comparision
MechFLOW is a customized software developed using the open source code of k-epsilon turbulence model available with OpenFOAM especially to solve problems related to Car park basement. The results obtained from the MechFLOW was compared with the commercial CFD code of Fluent 6.3.26. We were able to analyse that there was not much of a deviation while comparing the parameters calculated. Hence the new customized solver developed over OpenFOAM performs as efficiently as the commercial CFD code of Fluent 6.3.26.
Objective
MechFLOW was developed to simulate CO concentration in a car park basement area. The project uses open source library OpenFOAM. The project objective was to develop a solver using the open source code of k-epsilon turbulence model available with OpenFOAM which can perform steady state simulation for multi-species gases which is used as a default solver in this problem.
