Understanding Current process :

Our team worked with the clients' team to understand the engineering logic and the pricing structure of their products. The initial phase of the project was to reproduce this logic.

Software Development : 

The key to successful and usable software, apart from its practicality, is to develop an intuitive graphical user interface to enable ease of operation and a faster learning curve. To ensure authentic use of all data generated by the software we used a 64-bit encryption algorithm.

Conclusion ;

The key benefits of the software can be listed out as follows:

a) Cutting down the turn-around time for a project quotation from one day to 10 minutes.

b) Avoiding human induced errors while creating submittals.

c) Standardization of the submittals making it person independent.

d)  Transfer of knowledge to a software owned by the organization to make it person-independent.

e)  Standardization of quotations and submittals across various branches of Voltas located throughout the country.

f) The submittals follow the norms of business visà- vis approvals by seniors in the organization.

Objective

An AHU manufacturer typically in a given month has to send out close to 1000 quotations and technical submittals for their product. Each one of these submittals has to be technically accurate and according to the custom specifications provided by the consultants. A single submittal for a project, takes close to a day or in some advanced cases even more time to prepare. This takes up a lot of time and leads to human induced errors. The objective was to come up with a software solution which would automate and improve the efficiency of these submittals so that the turn-around time of the process is minimized.
