Simulation of sound using aero-acoustics
Longitudinal pressure waves having frequencies between 20Hz and 20,000 Hz are sensed by the human ear. The name given to these waves is 'sound' or 'noise'. Design engineers sometimes want to reduce noise and sometimes need to produce sound. We at Mechartés assist engineers in understanding the sound sources and propagation of sound in any medium.
In order to reduce the sound that is generated from machinery, we first measure the sound generated, then conduct Fourier transform of the sound pressure wave to determine the sound characteristic. The sound created is simulated using FEM, CFD and analytical Tools. Mechartés also has rich experience in designing & analyzing automobile horns. We have also developed a software tool (Résorn) to predict sound produced from a horn.
We use our experience, Résorn &
analytical skills to help horn companies develop new products and solve
quality related problems in existing horns. Please browse through some
of our case-studies in the left side navigation bar to get an overview
of our acoustic analysis projects.
